Problems: Catch lights, angle, zoom, focus, lighting, flash
Perfection: The kid
You know my Dude you know he's quirky. If you don't know him, but you only see him, you might see a really tall, really lanky 11 year old who looks a bit malnourished with extremely long arms and legs. You will see shoulder blades and vertebrae, knee caps and elbows. All pointy and unpadded thanks to a recent growth spurt. You will see huge green eyes that appear to be devoid of emotion. You will see porcelain skin. And a huge toothy grin. You will see an unruly mop of nearly black hair. You will see a goofy dancing kid with a book in his hand and a pencil in his mouth. And you might wonder why he never sits still.
But. If you are lucky enough to know him then you will see a kid that never stops with good reason. If you take the time to look deep into the eyes you will see they are hooded with deep emotion. Emotion that constantly bubbles just under the surface, occasionally exploding forth. You will see that under the porcelain exterior is a slight olive tone, some heritage from long ago. And behind the toothy grin is a mouth full of laughter. You will realize he keeps his hair long so he can resemble Elvis. You will realize that with all of the reading he is wonderfully and terribly intelligent. And you'll realize the reason he never sits still is that he is too full: too full of life, too full of love, too full of laughter, too full of knowledge for his body to possibly find any way to be still.
